Pick one of the connection based questions and answer it in your blog. Be sure to write out the question.

 9. A strong relationship is built on the simple habit of being real. When you’re honest, you show the other person they are worth the truth, creating a sense of safety that allows the connection to grow. Trust isn't a one-time thing, it’s the result of consistently doing what you say you’ll doit. Lying is the biggest damage to an relationship because how am i supposed to trust you if you're con stantly dishonest

People sometimes feel the need to step away from their normal routines or environments in order to better understand themselves. Describe a time when you needed distance from a situation, place, or group of people in order to think more clearly or gain perspective. What did that experience teach you about yourself?

There was a time when I needed to step away from a stressful situation at school because everything felt overwhelming with assignments and activities, and expectations. Taking some time away, even just being alone for a while, helped me calm down and think more clearly. Once I had that space, I realized I didn’t have to handle everything perfectly and that it was better to take things one step at a time. This experience taught me that stepping away from a stressful situation can help me reset my mindset and understand my feelings better.

After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, my first impression of Christopher McCandless is that he was very determined and wanted to live independently. He seemed confident about his plan to go into the Alaskan wilderness and survive on his own. However, it also seems like he did not fully understand how dangerous the situation could be. In the chapter, he turns down extra supplies that could have helped him survive, which shows that he might have underestimated the risks. This makes me think he believed his skills and determination would be enough. Based on the details in the first chapter, I think McCandless knew there were risks, but he probably didn’t realize how serious and challenging living in the wilderness would actually be.

eflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

The topic that challenged me the most on the simile and metaphor worksheet was writing about my struggles. It was difficult because I had to think about hard moments, and that is not always easy. I also found it hard to come up with comparisons that clearly showed how I felt. To work through this, I thought about specific situations and focused on the main feeling from those experiences. Next time, I would brainstorm more ideas before writing so my similes and metaphors are clearer and more creative.

Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

While creating similes and metaphors about my struggles, growth, and resilience, I learned that figurative language can reveal deeper truths about my experiences. Turning my challenges into comparisons helped me reflect more thoughtfully on how those moments shaped me. I realized that many of my struggles were not just obstacles, but opportunities that strengthened my character and pushed me to mature. Writing in this way also showed me that I am more resilient than I sometimes give myself credit for. Overall, the process helped me better understand my personal growth and recognize the progress I have made over time.

feb 13If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

I would choose a long text message, a hoodie, and a late-night snack. A long text message represents how I show love through thoughtful communication and checking in on people. A hoodie represents comfort, because I try to make others feel safe and supported around me. A late-night snack represents the small, caring gestures I do to show I’m paying attention and there when someone needs me.

Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Over my break, I focused on relaxing and resetting before coming back to school. I caught up on sleep, organized my room, and spent quality time with my family. I also tried waking up earlier some days to go on short walks, which helped me feel more productive and less stressed. Overall, the break helped me recharge and return to school feeling more focused and ready to do my best.
